It’s June! This month marks the officially start of summer and so the theme for this months Ipsy bag is fitting – Pretty in Paradise!
“Warm white sandy beaches or a cafe under a star filled night sky, being pretty in YOUR paradise is only a Glam Bag away. We picked products that are excellent for an extravagant getaway or a quintessential kit for a quick trip for some peace and quiet. What paradise is on your bucket list?” – Ipsy
I was excited to see that the bag this month was designed by Rebecca Minkoff, although it’s actually not my favourite Ipsy bag design so far. I forgot to include the Laneige BB cream in the photo above..oopsies!
This BB cream claims to be a “5-in-one under the sun” product. It contains SPF 50 and it also hydrates, brightens, color corrects and soothes. This sample comes with 3 different shades – light, medium and dark. I guess it’s supposed to make your skin feel like a “cushion”? I haven’t tried it yet, but the reviews are great!
Um…this smells bad. Like, really bad. After reading a few other reviews turns out there may be something wrong with this batch of mascaras. Ispy is testing the formula and should have the results soon. I’m scared to try it until I hear what the results are. This is a huge bummer as a really liked the Bombshell shadow palette from a few months ago.
NYX Butter Gloss in Apple Strudel
This is by far my favourite thing in this months bag. This lipgloss gives a light flush of colour in a super hydrating formula. This hasn’t left my makeup bag since I got it. I’ll be picking more colours soon for sure : )
At first I was really excited about this liquid liner. I had been wanting to get a few brightly colours liners and this shimmery blue seemed perfect. Unfortunately, the applicator is hard plastic, not a sponge or a brush. It’s actually painful to apply, it feels like using a hard piece of plastic to apply liner so I’ll likely be tossing this. So sad, so much potential!
I am new to beach sprays, but I am starting to get the hang of them. Because my hair is so fine a little goes a long way with these types of products. I sprayed it lightly on my damp hair and crunched it as it dried. I was left with some nice wavy pieces and my hair wasn’t super crunchy which is good. This spray also smells like Piña Colada so that just made me like it more! : )
*Ipsy bags are $10 USD + shipping per month (around $14 Canadian) and the value of the products is always impressive! Do you want to try out Ipsy? You can click HERE using my referral link and sign up today : )
