I wanted to put together a fall makeup look that was simple and easy to do. I had some new Avon cosmetics that I wanted to try out so I used them to created this makeup look!
I am absolutely loving the dark lip trend for fall, but as someone who doesn’t normally wear dark lip colours it can be a bit intimidating! I am happy to say that I stepped a bit outside of my comfort zone and tried a darker lip. I am so glad I did! This lip colour has become one of my new favourite lipsticks shades and I’ve been wearing it constantly.
Let this be a reminder that if you see a makeup look you love but are nervous to try it – just go for it! Want to try out blue eyeliner? Do it! Want to try a super bold brow? Do it! We all get stuck in the same old makeup routine at some point but it’s nice to try something totally new. You might just end of loving it! : )

As soon as I saw the pale blue shade (bottom second from the left) in this palette I knew it was going to be love at first swatch! These aren’t the most pigmented shadows but they’re buildable. I went lighter on the shadow with this look so that the lips would really be the main focus. I love the colour selection and I could definitely see myself using the brown and dark blue on the top right. So purdy.
This liquid liner has a slanted felt tip that allows you to create a thick or thin line. I love felt tip liners so this one was easy for me to use and worked flawlessly. It was liquidy (I’ve decided that’s a real word) enough to glide across my lash line yet it was still fairly pigmented. I did have to go over it twice to get it as dark as I wanted it, but once it dried it did not budge for over 8 hours! This liner might be a worthy challenger against my favourite Maybelline liquid liner!
Ultra Color Lipstick in Matte Amethyst
$8.00 Sale $5.99
Ok, this is my new favourite lipstick. It’s such a beautiful dark purple shade that is so perfect for fall! The matte finish is gorgeous and it doesn’t dry my lips out. Girl, I’m telling you this stayed on my lips better than any MAC lipstick I’ve tried. And I didn’t have to reapply after drinking. In fact I didn’t reapply at all for over 4 hours which is outstanding for me. As a chronic lip chewer I’m lucky to get 2 hours out of even the most budge-proof lipstick.
Give me all the colours!!!
Mega Effects Mascara in Black $10
This one is so unique I had to post a photo of it individually. It’s like no other mascara I’ve tried (and that’s saying something!) The wand is bendable for easy application to both upper and lower lashes and the brush itself is sort of…strange? I don’t quite know how to describe it but the important thing is that it works! The formula is on the wet side which is great for building volume without clumping. I had to practice a bit to get the hang of it but now I actually really like this weird little mascara!
