Grape and Wine Inspired Nails

Happy Monday everyone!

Today’s nails are inspired by the Niagara Grape and Wine Festival! I’m a Toronto girl now, but I grew up in Niagara and regularly attended the Grape and Wine. And while I haven’t attended the festival in a few years, my favourite colours for fall are often plumbs and purples. I started off not knowing what design I wanted to try out, but I ended up with something that resembles clusters of grapes! You can easily turn this into a leopard print design as well.

You only need a few things to achieve this look.

What I used:

  • Julep – Alaina (light mauve)
  • Julep – Trina (Dark purple)
  • Julep – Freedom Polymer Top Coat
  • Essence – Nail Art Stylist
  • Plastic Wrap (to protect your working surface)

Steps:

  1. Cover your surface (I used paper towel here, but it bled through. Use plastic wrap it works much better!)
  2. Apply two coats of the base colour (preferable the lighter colour). Let dry for 5 minutes
  3. Put a few drops of the darker colour onto your working surface, then apply a small amount to the end of the stylist
  4. Simply apply to your nails, re-dipping as needed! The more polish you apply to the end of the stylist, the larger your dots will be
  5. Let dry for 15 minutes, then try applying top coat to your pinky nail. You may see a little streaking, if so wait another few minutes before applying top coat to the rest of your nails.
