3D Printed Nails – The Next Trend in Nail Art?

This is new even to me! 3D printed nails for special occasions and events are now available at The Laser Girls website. For those of you who aren’t familiar with 3D printing, it involves creating a 3D rendering of an object and printing it using the material of your choice e.g. plastic or metal.  The Laser Girls have taken it to a whole new level, and created 3D nail extensions that look like mini plastic works of art.

The creators say to use nail glue or nail tape to adhere them, and remove by using acetone (the same thing used to remove shellac), and last for one or two applications. Though I am fascinated by this new nail fad, the prices are a bit steep at $30 per set of 10.

But for the über adventuress fashionistas out there, this might be just the thing for you!

Created from black nylon plastic, these glorified press on nails are flexible and grainy in texture. Anyone else think we’ll see Lady Gaga wearing these in the near future? Check out the 3D rendering used to create these below:

These babies are not for the faint of heart! Playing up the “dagger nails” trend, these creations are part nylon and part fantasy. These could even be used as a weapon to ward off unwanted male advances ladies. Safety first!

I love how people are finding new ways to create nail art that pushes boundaries. Will you be trying out these avant-garde nails?
