GUEST POST: Dry Skin Savers

Hi Everyone!

My name is Jayne of Cosmetic Proof and I am delighted to be guest posting on Megan Joy today! I have only just “e-met” Megan, as we were brought together by Canadian Beauty Bloggers, but when I got the chance to read her blog I was so happy to have a wonderful Canadian blog to add to my daily reads! Megan takes the most beautiful photos, especially the ones of herself! No one takes a better selfie than her!

Today I am going to be sharing with you all of my skincare must-haves that I cannot go without. My skin is quite dry so most of the products that I will share with you today are geared for the “dry/mature” skin type. I rarely have breakouts, have been blessed with acne-free skin and save for some redness in my cheek area, have fairly well-behaved skin. I feel like my routine is a bit different from everyone else’s, but I hope you will be able to find some amazing products that might work for you in today’s post!

In the mornings, the first thing I do is wash my face with plain ol’ water followed by a quick swab of The Body Shop’s Nutriganics Refreshing Toner. I am not a morning person at all so I often will need an extra wakeup call which means some sort of undereye rollerball treatment with either Elizabeth Grant’s Biocollasis Complex 3 in 1 Eye Treatment or Marcelle’s Hydra-C. The coldness of the metal ball takes away any puffiness and gives me the jolt I need to awake from my dragon slumber. I then use skoah’s Hydradew Mask which I actually leave on all day as it’s a mask that also isn’t a mask. It absorbs right into the skin and is actually a great base for makeup because it hydrates and doesn’t leave a sticky or dewy finish. This is a product that is fantastic for ALL SKIN TYPES! If my skin is feeling extra parched, which has definitely been the case this winter, I will apply a thin coat of Benefit’s Total Moisture. Use this sparingly as it is quite rich and can potentially break you out if you go too crazy!

When I come home from work, the very first thing I do is take off my makeup. For my eyes and face, I use the much touted about Bioderma Sensibio Micelle Solution and with good reason! This stuff is incredible and removes everything without irritating the eyes! If I’m feeling particularly lazy/tired, the other product I will use are cleansing cloths and I am getting quite picky about them now. One of my favourite cleansing cloths are the Kaia Naturals Facial Cleansing Cloths and even though they are a little smaller and more expensive than the drugstore brands, these leave my skin feeling so soft and most importantly CLEAN!

Now my night time routine is where I spend the most time! I start off with a very thick eye cream like Lise Watier Age Control Supreme as my undereyes are super dry after I get out of the shower. Oh, weird thing, I have my showers at night so a lot of my moisturizing is done at night! I then use Vichy Idealia Life Serum on my face followed by skoah Neck Serum on my neck and décolletage area. If my skin is red and irritated, I will apply the skoah Kalm Down Mask, which like the Hydradew mask gets absorbed right into the skin so I use it as a sleeping mask. It doesn’t leave your skin feeling sticky so there is no need to wash it off. The Kalm Down Mask is also wonderful for “après eyebrow tweezing”! If my skin is behaving, I will use skoah Dewlux as my night cream as it is VERY thick and hydrating and takes a few minutes to fully absorb. This face cream is for dry/mature skin and contains CoQ10, shea butter and lipoic acid to soothe and stimulate cell renewal.

And after what seems like hours later, I am finally ready for bed! I hope I was able to introduce some new products into your own skin regime! Thank you for reading and to Megan for allowing me to guest post!
