Benefit Cosmetics Fake Up Concealer in Light

Oh Benefit, how I love thee. I received this sample when I was last in the Sutter Street location here in San Francisco. I was on the market for a new under eye concealer so it was perfect timing. Let’s start with the packaging. Even though this is just a little baby sample, I absolutely love the design (possibly even more than the full size packaging).

Benefit’s Fake Up is an under eye concealer that is super hydrating and therefore minimizes the look of fine lines.

“Cover-up goes incognito. This moisturizing crease-control concealer with vitamin E and apple seed extract hides dark circles and diffuses fine lines for a silky smooth, ultranatural look. Available in three shades, it’s proven to keep skin hydrated for six hours and won’t cake, crease, or settle.” – Benefit Cosmetics

You can see that there is a clear ring around the concealer of hydrating ingredients that not only make the concealer apply flawlessly but also leaves your eye area feeling intensely moisturized. I just run this under my eye and use my ring finger to pat it in. It brightens up my dark circles and hours later it still looks fresh. Some under eye concealers start to settle into fine lines and begin to look caked on, but not this one!

This is the Light formula, but it also comes in medium and dark.

As soon as I finish this sample (it’s been 2 weeks of using it every day and I still have some left) I will definitely be purchasing the full size tube ($24 at Sephora or Shoppers Drugmart )!

Have you used Fake Up? What’s your favourite Benefit Cosmetics product?

I have really wanted to try this, though I think it’s a bit to yellow for me… It looks awesome though.

I haven’t had a chance to try Benefit’s Fake Up, but after your review, I’m definitely going to give it a go. My favorite Benefit product so far is They’re Real Mascara. I love dining and shopping in San Francisco.

That mini sample is just too cute!
I have this one too, but I think the medium shade would’ve been better for me cause this gives me a reverse raccoon look. I do find it really hydrating though and it doesn’t give a cakey finish at all.
