Benefit Lollitint and Dream Screen

I recently stopped by the Benefit Boutique on Sutter Street in San Francisco and picked up a few goodies. Big thanks to Sarah for helping me pick these out!

The newest addition to the Benefit Cosmetics tint collection is called Lollitint (a lovely candy orchid colour) which I got a sample of in my last Ispy bag. I totally fell in love and I’ve been using it as a liquid cheek stain and a lip stain. The orchid colour is totally on trend and the formula is great.

For use as a blush, Benefit recommends that you brush it along your cheeks and then blend it in with your finger tips. I find that it sets REALLY fast though, so I find it’s better to apply it directly to my finger tips and then blend on to my cheeks. I’ve ended up with the strokes permanently on my skin and then I have to apply foundation overtop to try and blend them in. Not a fun time! For lips I use the brush applicator and apply it to the middle of my lips and blend out using my finger tips. It leaves my lips with a pretty matte flush of colour that I love!

The Benefit Cosmetics Dream Screen Invisible Silky-Matte Broad Spectrum SPF 45 Sunscreen for Face (long name!) is a new product that promises high SPF protection without the greasy feel. I’ve been using this for a few weeks now and I like it. It has higher SPF than any of my BB creams and is light enough to wear under my makeup daily. It has almost no “sunscreen” odour which is great, and it absorbs to a matte finish. The formula is really watery so you only need a few drops to cover your whole face.

The downside is that I find the price a bit high ($32) for a fairly small bottle of sunscreen. I have dry skin so it’s not super important that my sunscreen be matte, but if you have oily skin the matte finish of this cream will probably be worth it!

Have you tried either of these products? What is your favourite from the Benefit Tint collection?

I notice the exact same thing with the benefit tints. I wore benetint using the 3 line technique and my boyfriend thought I had genuinely been scratched by something! I think applying first on your finger is a lot better!

Ooh, great reviews! I’m always on the hunt for a matte sunscreen, so will definitely have to check out that BeneFit option :)

Let me know what you think of it! It’s super light so if you want to avoid the oily feeling most sunscreens have this will be perfect for you

And the streaks on my face are exactly why I can’t do any of the Benetints on my face! It’s like I wait a few seconds too long and I’m done!

Totally agree, I have to apply to my fingers first and then apply otherwise I end up with either lines or dots where I’ve applied it. NO bueno!

Definitely excites about the sunscreen. As I have fair skin (white really) and burn oh so veey easily. I will definitely be keeping my eyes peeled for this in any of our stores!! I do love Benefit.

I really need to get on trying my Lollitint. It’s funny how many things I realize I have that I haven’t tried when I read blogs.
