Wedding Wednesdays: Bridal Party Keepsakes

It’s Wedding Wednesday! Each Wednesday I will be blogging about everything to do with weddings! If you want to see the other posts I’ve done in this series you can click here.

Keepsakes are not at all necessary, some couples give them and others don’t. There’s no rule that says you have to! For me I thought it was a nice way to give each person a little something to remember the day by and a way to thank them. I still have the earrings my friend Ashley gave me at her wedding in 2011! And every time I wear them I think of her.

The ladies in my bridal party did so much work planning showers and bachelorette parties and just generally being there for me during the whole engagement! I know James felt the same way about his friends, the wedding would not have been possible without each of them!

I had a really hard time coming up with ideas that were even a little bit original, so I wanted to share my picks with you. I hope someone out there will find it helpful!

I wanted the bridesmaids to have something cute and comfy to wear while we were getting ready for the wedding. I also wanted it to be something they could easily take off without ruining their hair and makeup.

I found these adorable tank tops on Etsy and it was just my luck that they had a matching “Bride” tank top in mint (our wedding colour!) I love the bow detailing on the back!

I love how these shirts turned out, the girls all looked so pretty in them! Person 10 on Etsy can customize them to meet whatever your needs are. For example, the original top said “Maid of Honor” because it’s an American company but she easily created one with the Canadian spelling without causing the rest of the order to be delayed. She also added mint bows instead of they grey that’s shown in the photo so that their bows would match my top!  I’d highly recommend them, they did a great job.

I came across these dainty bracelets on Etsy and completely fell in love. I got one for myself, all the bridesmaids as well as my Mother-in-Law and my Mom. It was one thing we all wore that matched and tied us together, and I thought the sentiment behind that was really lovely.

Groomsmen:

black swiss army knives

James always has his Swiss Army knife with him and it’s become something that I now associate with him. So it was totally fitting that he gave these to his groomsmen as a keepsake. Men, always getting such “practical” gifts : )

James found these mint bow ties on Etsy and they matched the girls dresses perfectly! I know James struggled to come up with something creative too (there’s literally nothing that hasn’t been done before) and I think the ties were a great idea. The guys all looked super handsome, it matched the colour scheme nicely and (hopefully) they will be able to wear them again one day!

That’s it for today’s Wedding Wednesday! I’m having a lot of fun doing these posts, it’s fun going back through all the photos and reliving the memories of that day.

Feel free to share a story about what you gave as a keepsake or one that you received and really loved! I think people who are wedding planning would like to see all the different and creative ideas people can come up with : )

Such a thoughtful idea! I’d love to do something like that as well for my bridesmaids. Just another detail to add to the list lol
