Review – Nars Blush/Bronzer Duo and Maybelline’s The Rocket!

Someone recently recommended the Nars Blush/Bronzer Duo after I complained that my current bronzer always made my skin look orange. It’s not cheap (it will run you about $50 at Sephora), but my experience so far is that it’s totally worth it!

I’ve been using it for about a week and I love the natural sun-kissed glow the brozer gives. I also like that it is quite matte. I apply below my cheekbones, along my jawline and on my temples using a contouring brush. You don’t need much, a little goes a long way!

I usually go for a blush with more berry tones, so I was unsure if I would like the peachy colour of this blush. But I really like it! It is more subtle than the one I normally wear, and it has a built in shimmer that allows it to double as a highlighter! This is a perfect example of me using the wrong colours for my skin tone just because I never tried anything else. I think peach tones will be my go-to option for blush going forward.

I will definitely repurchase this!

Yesterday I bought Maybelline’s The Rocket in Very Black. I needed a new mascara, and I’ve been using the Cover Girl Exact Eyelights Mascara In Black Ruby for a long time but wanted to try something new. I have seen a lot of beauty bloggers talking about The Rocket and really liking it! As a bonus, it was on sale at Shopper’s Drugmart for $4.99!

I am a pretty hard judge when it comes to  mascara. I have the most difficult lashes, they are straight, thin and short. I get little to no curl, even when I use an eyelash curler. I’ve never found a mascara that lengthens, curls and volumizes but most will hit at least one.

This mascara lengthened and separated my lashes, but I got no extra curl or volume. I did like that the brush allowed me to applyit  on my lower lashes pretty easily. I will say – I like that the formula is very wet. Some mascaras are more dry (for example Benefit’s Bad Gal) which I don’t like, but it’s really personal preference. This formula allowed me to apply two coats with no clumping, which is rare for me. Overall I like this mascara but I don’t know if I would repurchase.

guuuuurl. Diorshow mascara. Trust. Also, Cher totally got me into laguna bronzer but I prefer the Deep Throat blush. Or Bobbi Brown pale pink.
